‘Lion King’ animator dies of coronavirus

Ann Sullivan, the animator for the US-based Walt Disney Company who worked on 'The Lion King,' has died at the age of 91 after contracting coronavirus.

The Woodland Hills-based campus of the Motion Picture and Television Fund announced on Monday that Sullivan died from complications due to COVID-19.

Sullivan worked on other iconic Disney films, including ‘The Little Mermaid’.

The flu-like deadly virus originated in China in late 2019 and later spread to many other countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the virus a global pandemic.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases across the globe now stands at 1,920,918, and a total of 119,686 people have died from the virus, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University.
